Ware Lions Football Club has quite a fascinating history, dating back to its establishment in 1968. Being the oldest junior and youth football club in Ware, the club has been managed by local parents and volunteers up until today, some of whom were the early players and are now seasoned managers.
With solid links with local schools and the community, the club attracts an array of players from Ware and Thundridge, as well as from many surrounding towns and villages, which speaks volumes about its community engagement efforts.
Ware Lions is not just a sports club; it is a genuine community club committed to making football as affordable as possible for everyone.
Ware Lions competes in the Mid Herts Rural Minors and Hertfordshire Partnership Girls Leagues. We were one of the founding clubs when the MHRM league first started in 1968. Over the years, the club has been based at numerous grounds for home games, but finally settled at its current main ground located in Thundridge, in September 2012. Since then, it has developed a positive relationship with Thundridge Parish Council.

Age Groups
At our club, we are excited to announce that we cater to individuals of all ages, starting from the youngest football enthusiasts in the Development group, comprising Under 5s and 6s, up to the oldest age group, 18s. We take pride in our diverse community of players and are committed to ensuring that everyone gets the opportunity to play and develop their skills.
We are delighted to announce from the 24-25 Season we now have our first Girls team competing in The U12s Hertfordshire Girls Partnership League.
